John Kiernan is the Managing Editor at WalletHub. He oversees WalletHub’s content strategy
and
helps
produce product reviews, educational guides, and other content to help answer people’s
financial
questions and help them save money.
John joined Evolution Finance (WalletHub’s parent company) as a writer in 2010, before
WalletHub
even
existed. Since then, he’s helped build WalletHub from the ground up, becoming one of the most
senior
members of the team.
John graduated from the University of Maryland in 2010 with a BA in Journalism, a minor in
Sport
Commerce & Culture, and the University Honors Citation. While at Maryland, he wrote as a
freelancer
for several local publications and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity.
John is a Washington, D.C. native, whose parents were both also born and raised in the
nation’s
capital. He has an older brother, two older sisters and a younger sister (all of whom attended
the
University of Maryland, as well), along with two nephews and a niece.
He loves to go to the beach in New Jersey with his extended family, having grown up surfing
there
every summer. He also enjoys hanging out with his family’s dogs, playing golf, listening to
hip-hop,
and following the Washington Nationals.
